    A little history doesn't hurt. Banpresto was founded as Hoei Sangyo, Co. Ltd. in April 1977.

    It went through a few name changes, working as a contract manufacturer for Sega arcade games under the name Coreland in the 1980s.

    Parts of the company were purchased by Bandai in 1989 around the time the company acquired its current name. In March 2006, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Namco Bandai.
