Karl Anthony Malone, born July 24, 1963, in Summerfield, Louisiana, is a professional basketball player considered one of the best power forwards in National Basketball Association (NBA) history.
Nicknamed "the Mailman" because he delivered points with the regularity of a mail carrier delivering mail, he spent his first 18 seasons, from 1985 to 2003, with the Utah Jazz and formed a formidable duo with his teammate John Stockton.
After retiring from the NBA, Malone joined the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs basketball team staff in 2007 and was inducted twice into the Basketball Hall of Fame: in 2010 for his individual career, and as a member of the 1992 United States Olympic Dream Team.
