Backto the Future is a 1985 American science fiction film directed by Robert Zemeckis.
The plot tells of a journey into the past by a teenager, Marty McFly, aboard a time machine built by Doctor Emmett Brown from a DeLorean DMC-12 model car. Starting from In the year 1985 and propelled into 1955, Marty, aided by the 1955 "Doc", must resolve the temporal paradoxes caused by his interventions in the past and find a way to operate the machine to return to his original time.
The film's commercial success led to two sequels, Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990), forming a trilogy, and the development of a commercial franchise across various media.
